A modern, dynamic learning community
Christian Community School
is a modern, dynamic learning community catering for students from
Year 7 to Year 12.
As a secondary school, we have developed a flexible, learning culture
specifically suited to the needs of adolescent students. Our medium
size allows us to focus on developing a diverse curriculum with a wide
range of extra curricular activities while still maintaining a personal
and relational pastoral care programme catering to individual students
needs.
At CCHS, we believe that education is the primary responsibility
of parents
and, we seek to work in partnership with our families as a Christian
community. In this way, the school serves to support Christian
parents in the effective raising of their children.
Situated in Regents Park
in Sydney, New South Wales, CCHS's
convenient central location and accessibility draws students
from a large geographic area. A
ministry of Regents Park Community Church,
CCHS is governed
by a School Board and
currently has an enrolment of 545 students.
Our philosophy
Our philosophy is that each student is unique,
special and created in God's image. Students need to develop a
Biblical perspective
of themselves
as well as other people, hence we mentor each student
individually as well as supporting the group as a whole. At CCHS
students learn that they
have a vital role in developing a strong, vibrant Christian
learning community.
We place a strong emphasis on helping the students
develop a Biblical view of servanthood and leadership through service
to others.
We want to help students become productive citizens with a
sense of
calling in
their lives with the willingness and ability to use their gifts
and talents to the glory of God and the benefit of their fellow
man.
Our commitment
The staff
at CCHS are committed Christians who effectively model the Biblical
principles
taught. All teachers and support
staff are
highly qualified and dedicated individuals, who view their
work at CCHS as a
ministry rather than a job.
At CCHS we believe that
excellence in education is about more than just achieving high scores
in the Higher School Certificate.
We are
committed to developing
excellence in the whole person from academic, vocational,
creative arts and sports to spiritual, interpersonal and
personal.
Since our establishment
in 1976, Christian
Community High School has been noted for its commitment to developing
a Biblically based
worldview
that
underpins what is taught, how
it is taught and how it is lived out.
Wisdom is the correct application
of truth, knowledge and love. This is what we seek to impart
into the lives of each student.
